Translational Bioinformatics Conference 2012 (TBC 2012)
Jeju Island, Korea, Oct. 14-17, 2012
Translational Bioinformatics Conference 2012 will be held in Jeju Island, South Korea with a mix of computer biologists, scientists, engineers, epidemiologists, physicists, statisticians, and physicians together to create unique intellectual environment.
TBC 2012 will aim to highlight the multi-disciplinary nature research field and provide an opportunity to bring together and exchange ideas between genomics, bioinformatics, translational research, and medical informatics researchers. Translational bioinformatics is a rapidly emerging field of biomedical data sciences and informatics technologies that efficiently translate basic molecular, genetic, cellular, and clinical data into health products or implications.
Topics:
. Next-Gen Sequencing for Personal Genomics, Cancer Genomics and Metagenomics
. Rare and common variants of human genome
. Epigenomics, non-coding RNAs, and DNA methylation analysis
. Genome-Phenome-Envirome Network Analysis
. Microarray analysis and functional genomics for disease
. Biomarkers, Drug Discovery and Pharmacogenomics
. Biomedical Text/Data Mining and Visualization
. Network Biology/Medicine and Pathway/Regulation Analysis
. Biomedical Intelligence, Clinical Informatics, and Health Record
. Semantic Biology/Medicine and Biomedical Ontologies
Important Dates:
. Paper submission due on June 30, 2012
. Notification of paper acceptance on August 11, 2012
. Poster submission due on September 1, 2012
. Final manuscript of full paper due on Oct. 14, 2012
Selected manuscripts are reviewed by the journal editors again and will be published early 2012. Authors can choose their manuscripts to be published in the sponsor journals or TBC 2011 Proceedings. Six papers from TBC 2011 have been published in JAMIA.
Submissions:
All accepted papers of TBC 2012 will be recommended to be published as journal papers by JAMIA (J Am Med Inform Assoc), BMC BioData Mining, Healthcare Informatics Research, and Genomics & Informatics. Full papers are limited to 12 pages, including title, abstract, figures, tables, text, and bibliography. Papers must not have been previously published and must not be currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Papers will be submitted electronically in MS Word, postscript or PDF format through the conference website
