Job description: The Biomedical Genomics Group (http://bg.upf.edu) is settled in the Research Unit on Biomedical Informatics (GRIB) (http://grib.imim.es), a joint unit of the IMIM-Hospital del Mar and the University Pompeu Fabra,

which is located at the PRBB, Barcelona. The main line of research in our group is the integration of genomic data for the study of genetic diseases, including hereditary diseases and cancer. This position is immediately available for enthusiastic and highly motivated software engineers wanting to be part of Biomedical Genomics Group and work in a multidisciplinary project related to personalized medicine.

Qualifications and experience:
It is required:
• 2 years of experience in software projects
• High knowledge of Java programming language
• Basic software engineering skills and practices (UML, patterns, project management tools, version control, bug management)
• Intermediate English level
It will be an add some of:
• Basic knowledge in some or all of Bash, Python, R, Makefile languages.
• Hadoop related technologies knowledge or experience
• Web applications development experience
• Database management skills
• Linux knowledge as a user/administrator

Contract: Full-time position, available on a fixed-term basis for two years with the possibility of extension. Competitive salary according to profile and previous
experience.
